I think hydrocortisone cream helps – but trying to get an appt at the Docs is like trying to win the lottery, and he’s not too keen about going on a sunbed. They (at the light treatment) were adamant that he should not use a sunbed and would not give him any information about the kind of light he was getting, but he ended up nice and brown and the dermatology nurse has promised to try and get him some more info about exactly what was in the light treatment so he can work out if a sunbed would be any help at all. I too have just developed guttate psoriasis and its driving me crazy. Ps one of the previous replies mentioned some creams and I think there was a typo I think the creams are Eumovate (prescription based) & Eumobase (over the counter). Does anyone have any herbal suggestions that might help? I have tried Dovobet and now am on Dovonex and know (from previous experiences) that they will be useless. I too have had trouble with my GP on getting antibiotics so know how you feel. I used the sunbed, 10 – 15 minutes would do. Just heard on Channel four that sunbeds help clear psoriasis. I think I remember them using intensive UV treatment in previous series to help people suffering from it, so I guess so. If you want to receive this treatment you need to get yourself referred to a dermatologist and get the proper phototherapy – if you try and do it by using sunbeds you might ultimately end up damaging your skin.

I thought long and hard about writing this post as it’s another pretty personal one but I figured that if it helps someone who goes through the same thing then it’s all for the greater good. Given that I had been experiencing some personal and work-related stress over the previous few months this seemed to fit the bill.
