Dr. Feldman is a Professor of Dermatology, Pathology & Public Health Sciences at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine, Department of Dermatology in Winston-Salem, NC. As Co-Director of the Center for Clinical and Cosmetic Research, he continues his broad-based clinical research program while focusing laboratory investigations on the study of scarring. Dr. Scher received a bachelor’s degree from New York University and a master’s degree in Biochemistry from Brooklyn College. Now, he is a professor, institute of allergy, asthma & immunology, Department of Pediatrics, and president of Chung Shan Medical University, Taichung, Taiwan. Completed her Master degree in Biological Sciences (Biochemistry) by the University of Sao Paulo (1981), the PhD in Genetics and Molecular Biology by University of Campinas (1989) and Post-doctorate from East CarolinaUniversity School of Medicine (1997). His clinical and research focuses the diseases of rhinologic field such as rhinosinusitis, nasal polyps, corrective rhinoplasty, and benign and malignant tumor in sinonasal cavity. He serves on the board of the International Dermatology Outcomes Measures group and the medical board of the National Psoriasis Foundation. Investing in young leaders in the sciences: cancer, neuroscience, immunology, and pain. The program is especially focused on people working at the interface of the biological and physical sciences, as well as those who are studying global health problems and other diseases that disproportionately affect people living in low-resource settings. Genetic Dermatology, Dr. Elder received his MD and his PhD in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry, from Yale University. His current efforts in this area are focused on identification of psoriasis susceptibility genes outside the MHC, with nine loci confirmed thus far. After completing a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry at Binghamton University, Dr. Friedler went on to the New York University School of Medicine where she received academic awards and participated in honors program research. Our Global Health Program advisory committee is comprised of a group of esteemed experts from outside of the foundation who offer a wide range of experiences and perspectives. M. Kathryn Iovine, Ph.D. received B.S. degrees in Biology and Chemistry at Carnegie Mellon University and a Ph.D. in Molecular Cell Biology from Washington University in St. Dr. Skibbens teaches courses in molecular cell biology, the biology of cancer, and immunology. The increased interest in pursuing research in many of these areas of immunology is reflected in both the growing number of faculty at The University of Michigan Medical School with a major focus on immunology and the increased number of graduate students filling these laboratories. These interests focused on the central nervous system (CNS) based on growing evidence for a role for complement in CNS diseases.
