It feels i’ve had sun burn for 3 weeks. I did have this once before about 10 years ago but i do not remember it ever burning or being quite so itchy. I have had guttate psoriasis for 7 years, have been given tablets by the hospital. I had guttate psoriasis about 12 years ago and have been suffering multiple flare-ups this year. I have been having UVB narrow band light treatment every year since then to keep both the heat rash and guttate at bay and it has been very successful. I’ve always had outbreaks of plaque psoriasis, but never experienced anything like this. Recently, I’ve exposed it to the sun, and the UV rays have helped to dry it up, but there is significant scarring, which I’m hoping fades with time. I’ve actually been getting small guttate flares during the summer for the past 10 years but every time I’ve seen it start to form as little red spots, I’ve used that salicylic acid product and it’s gone after a few days. Some say guttate goes on it’s own after about a year, but who actually wants to do nothing and wait? My daughter recently had a cold and sore throat and little spots started to appear. I did get my GP to refer me to a dermatologist (hadn’t seen one in about 10 years!) and she referred me for UVB light treatment – something I’ve not tried before but have been keen to. I also have the guttate psoriasis go nuts straight after having both the boys, this time its not as bad, but I guess it’s because I have all my lotions & potions in place! Have a few plaques on knees & elbows, the real problem as ever is my scalp. I’ve had psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis for twenty years since the age of 28. Today I am on a medication that has reduced my plaque to only 5-10 BSA! The flare ups seemed to be lessening as my thyroid treatment was starting but I was overmedicated and now I am right back at square one. I suffer from Guttate Psoriasis.
