I also have Psoriasis, so I cannot imagine going more than two days without washing my hair. Does this also apply if you have a mild case of psoriasis? Originally nothing most likely and then just regular soap I would imagine. Now, after going so long without using shampoo, I think its odd to use shampoo now. I wash my hair with baking soda and I rinse it with apple cider vinegar. Many people take the plunge and decide that, after washing their hair with regular shampoo and stripping the natural oils out of their hair for their whole life, they will go one WEEK without washing. My hair is easier to manage without any product than it was before. Yeah, I really don’t see the point of showering with soap or shampoo any more, so I plan to continue with this indefinitely. But it isn’t gross, at least not now that my hair has adjusted (I admit that it was touch and go for a couple of weeks there). TIL that when I’m getting a haircut, and the stylist says you have nice hair that just means I wash it more than once a week and do not have lice. Sometimes the psoriasis is so bad that you can’t run the clippers through it without hurting him. Just imagine layers of hair, sebum and dead skin.

I am a daily hair washer, and really can’t imagine not washing my hair after a run? I’ve tried in the past to go two+ days without washing my hair, but I don’t like the way it feels/looks. As i got older, i washed it every time i got in the shower and sometimes that was twice a day. now, i wash my hair about 3-4 times a week. if i go more than 2 days between a wash it starts to be a tad bit smelly which i can’t stand. I have always wanted to stop shampooing so much too. My hair is naturally wrinkly, leaning more towards curly for most of my life. I wore it down day 1, and up on day 2 and 3 until I washed. So going no-poo hasn’t really let me go longer as I have read and I really thought this transition period would be over by now since I was low poo before. Some people can’t imagine not washing every day, even if their hair isn’t oily, and Lynch says, I think it’s psychological.
