Dr Phil Alderson, medical associate director of the Centre for Clinical Practice at NICE, says: Greater responsibility for the condition within primary care could improve access to treatments and support for people with this highly visible and potentially stigmatising disease. If this took place at a public hospital there might not have been nurses available either. Such disease as psoriasis, or scaly deprive, – one of the most mysterious, most widespread and most ancient skin diseases, data on which occur in the Bible. I got psoriasis on both cheeks 4 years ago due to skin infection (i spot treated some flat warts with tea tree oil and that burnt my skin) while I was going through a very stressful period of my life, ever since, I had tried many different approaches, internal and external remedies (including ACV and baking soda), the best they could do was to temporarily improve the condition, but once the treatments were stopped, it tended to come back. Note in all examples the response is specific to a particular type of disease, as to some extent is the trauma: UVR does not induce pathergy or Nikolsky. Looking for a support group that can help as side effects from medication seem to be making it unbearable. The UV sunbed was not useful for the scalp however so I purchased a home use UV device from Daavlin in the US (the same company who manufacture the UV sunbed my dermatologist has). I’m not sure what the technical name for the treatment is, but it was some kind of a light treatment. His skin’s all healed over, there’s no new patches appearing ad he feels so much better himself – no itching or uncomfortableness and has even joined me and LO in the swimming pool. Also the sunbeds worked wonders for my psoriasis, it’s a bit swings and roundabouts with sunbeds as they are not great for you but my doctor said as long as it’s only once a week and the correct googles are used it would be fine as long as it wasn’t used as a long term solution, just say for a few months in the build up to a wedding etc. I would definately look on line for the do’s and dont’s of foods etc. My wrist eczema spread a little and is still there. It looked infected so I went back to the doctors but saw a different doctor who was available. Also—do not go to tanning beds or lay in the sun until you figure out what you do have. Hi everyone, Firstly please excuse me if I am not doing this correctly – my first time on a forum! What I do know is that in psoriasis there is toxins that are being excreted out via the skin cos the body is not coping sufficiently enough through other means. Apparently the virus hates UVB rays so Im going to keep up with this until I’m certain I’ve killed it! Other than that, I’m eating healthily. I missed the herald spot however I had been at the doctor 2 weeks previously with an allergic rash that had infected and needed treatment. I have it in my scalp – at least there it cant be seen, but damn is it irritating. I itch like mad (esp if I dont wash my hair), tar shampoo stinks and does bugger all, and it gives me horrible dandruff which is kind of embarrasing!
